Frequently Asked Questions
How many eggs will my chicken lay?
Generally, each chicken will lay one egg every 24-26 hours, depending on the time of year.
What is a pullet?
A pullet is a hen that is less than one year old. A started pullet is a hen that is 14-22 weeks old.
Hens tend to lay eggs around 20-22 weeks of age, but this can vary based on the time of year.
How often should I collect our eggs?
Eggs should be collected at once per day, more often when there are extreme temperatures.
Can I order pullets from you if I live far away?
For now, we are only offering pullets to those that live in the far northern California and southern Oregon area.
For each set of pullets, we will have a few pick-up days for you to come get your ladies.
For an additional fee, we can coordinate a drop-off to your home within 90 miles of Fort Jones, California.
Can I come for a farm tour?
Sure! Please call or email us and we will set up a time for you to come take a look at our pullets.
How often are pullets available?
Right now we are offering pullets twice per year… once in June/July and again in October/November.
